Who Is The Face Behind Creative Angel's Artwork?

An Artist is Born
Hi, I'm Brianna A. Bennett! I'm the owner and creator of Creative Angel's Artwork! Allow me to share with you some of my background. I've been drawing since I was 6 years old. I drew all of the time as a child. It was one of my favorite things to do. My parents noticed my passion and always invested in me. My Dad was in the Navy and my mom was always a hardworking, wise, little lady. I was a military kid born in College Park, Atlanta, GA. and raised mainly in Panama City, FL since the age of 6/7 years old. Their support encouraged me to keep drawing and learning new techniques. 20 years later... I'm a professional Artist.
Socially Awkward
At Tyndall Elementary School, I won different awards for my talent and even won a 'Best of Bay' award in the 5th grade. Art was a way for me to express myself and even make friends. It was a conversation starter and a way to connect with other kids like me at the time. Fast forward to Middle School. I went through a lot of trauma due to being picked on at the time. I was always a soft spoken person, shy and pretty awkward. Honestly, even now at times. Art brought/brings me peace. It's my escape from reality and brings about comfort.
Rutherford High School
In highschool, the trauma continued and I felt misunderstood. Highschool wasn't all bad but I remember more not so nice times in comparison to good times. By this time I'd gone through about 60+ sketchbooks. I'm talking sketchbooks with every single page filled. I even numbered them numerically in order based on completion dates. (I gotta find those one day. 🙃) Writing poetry and making artwork kept me from going deeper into an already dark place in my mind. It was more than art it was a form of therapy for me. Art therapy. It was something that everyone in school knew me for and that was something I loved.
Life After High School and into Adulthood
I continued my passions into college at Gulf Coast State College. This was an overall great time for me. I met some unforgettable people, studied art abroad in Athens and Skopelos, Greece (Definitely will be blogging about this trip because... YO! lol), two of my art professors became the art parents I never knew I wanted (even til' this day), and my confidence and knowledge as an artist increased monumentally. Some of the best lessons I learned in life as an artist and a person came in college. College is also where I took the most art commissions. I was able to build my portfolio as an artist by doing portraits for people, face painting, teaching kids art, and more. I'll never forget it.
Currently..
I am currently still in Florida. Though, I travel a lot for different art events. Sometimes I even get offered the opportunity to speak to different groups of people about my artwork, my journey and give encouragement while spreading positivity. Recently, I've been completing public art projects in Panama City, FL. and have been working closely with City Hall in PC. I always wanted to get into completing murals so this is really exciting for me. I'm working on having my first solo art exhibit and am completing pieces as we speak. I host paint parties and create graphic logos and flyers for different entrepreneurs. I also am the Lead Artist, Graphic Designer and Creative Director for the clothing brand, Woke and Fly Inc. Clothing. Woke and Fly is an innovative, afrofuturistic clothing brand based in NY. It's now known as "BlackSpaceForce Clothing" & "BlackSpaceForce Inc."
Creative Angel's Artwork
I came up with the name for my brand a long time ago...without realizing it at first. I'll explain... So, as a teenager I made my first email which was originally spelled like, CrEaTiVeAnGeL.BB@gmail.com. The same one I now use for my business (creativeangel.bb@gmail.com). A creative angel is pretty much how I see myself. Two things that most people who knew me would associate me with is being creative and being angelic. This is probably mad cheesy LMAO 🤣 but it's my story and I'm standing beside it. Later, in 2016, I made my Instagram, @creativeangel.bb and kept the creative angel theme going. I wanted to be consistent with it in case it grew into something bigger. I'm very glad that I did. In 2020, I made my LLC., Creative Angel's Artwork, LLC. It sticks. ❣️
Goals
My artwork is about self love, uplifting my people, spreading knowledge and bringing about peace. I want to touch the world with my art. I love seeing people happy and I want the lonely to know that they are loved and not alone. If you feel misunderstood understand that someone innerstands you. I want people to embrace that very unique quality that makes them who they are. I want people of color to know how deep our history, our ancestry and legacy goes. I want my melanated brothers and sisters to know how beautiful we are as a people and how great the outcome is when we genuinely are there for one another. I want to make a difference and leave my mark not only as an Artist and talented, melanated woman but as a person.
Thank you so much for reading this. If you made it this far know that I appreciate you dearly for taking the time to get to know me as a person. Have a wonderful day. May it be filled with unexpected joys and abundance. You're a beautiful soul. 💖
~ With love, Bri
